From the B’Tark Stream Manual
Principles to live by
B’Tark pirates were paid to assassinate my parents.
At the time, I was 8 months old, living in a small town, Eltathare, on the planet Denoise. The Stream considers children my age an asset. They can be trained to service and raised without normal moral influences.
I was raised to be a perfect B’Tark pirate; ruthless, competitive, and wholly committed to the principles I learned from the B’Tark manual, B’Tark Principles, Instructions, and Guidelines, Version 107 (revised).
Eventually, I realized how empty and corrupt life as a pirate is. That is a long story. The turning point came when my Ver’Tark, Erin, and I attempted to commandeer Alystra’s ship. Erin came up with a way to escape, and we left that life behind.
Even so, as I have learned about your world, I have found that there are many interesting principles from the B’Tark manual, and principles that are the opposite of manual, that can be adapted to life on planet Earth. I pass them on to you.
